A vacancy has arisen for a Technical & Commercial Relationship Manager, based in Troy, Michigan.

  • Responsible for nurturing and expanding our technical and commercial relationships with customers, laboratories and R&D entities in the USA market.
    Additionally, this role will support the Business Development team with technical expertise while collaborating closely with our Performance Fuels Development
    team in Europe to tailor bespoke solutions for the USA market.

Responsibilities:

  • •Develop and maintain strong technical and commercial relationships with internal stakeholders as well as external customers, laboratories, and R&D entities in the USA market.
    •Sustainable Fuels, support the R&D activity and strengthen strategic relationships with the USA companies, producers of bio and sustainable raw materials.
    •Collaborate closely with the Performance Fuels Development Team in Europe (Germany and UK) to leverage their expertise and resources in developing tailored solutions for the USA market.
    •Identify and pursue opportunities for business growth and expansion (supported by business cases) within the USA market, leveraging technical insights and market intelligence.
    •Stay informed about industry trends, technological advancements, and regulatory requirements, and incorporate into strategy development.
    •Coordinate with cross-functional teams including Sales, Marketing, and Product Development to ensure alignment of technical and commercial strategies.
    Represent the company at industry conferences, trade shows, and other networking events e.g. ASTM to promote our products and services and build relationships within the industry.
  • •Manage the inventory for Performance Fuels/Certification fuels shelf life and SOP for recertification
    •New approval of products at customer level by markets and applications.
    •Identification and evaluation of hydrocarbon feedstocks.
    •Identification of opportunities from renewable feedstocks.
    •Technical and economic review of above opportunities to determine long term feasibility.
    •Act as a key point of contact to our existing / new customers as well as internal stakeholders and advise on the technical aspects of performance fuels, including formulation, testing methodologies, and regulatory requirements.
    •Establish and maintain technical support in the USA at production sites, Quality Control methods in alignment with the European technical teams.
    Report on USA based activity.

Required Skills and Experience:

•MS or MS. Eng Degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or related field; advanced degree (Masters or PhD) preferred.
•Strong technical competences in chemistry and preferably liquid hydrocarbons
•Proven experience (5+ years) in a technical or commercial role within the energy sector, preferably with a focus on performance fuels.
•Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders.
•Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and deliver results within established timelines.
•Strategic and entrepreneurial mindset with a focus on identifying and capitalizing on business opportunities.
•Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required.
•Bi-lingual (German) is an advantage but not required.
•Good organization skills, attention to detail, work independently, agile and able to work to tight timescales.
