I&E Technician
A vacancy has arisen for an Instrument & Electrical Technician
- To implement and maintain electrical power circuits and equipment.
- To maintain control and automation systems, electronic and pneumatic equipment used in plant operations.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Installing, inspecting, maintaining, operating, trouble-shooting, repairing and calibrating various mechanical, pneumatic, electrical and electronic equipment.
- Completing all appropriate documentation associated with the above duties.
- Performing preventative maintenance checks on instruments, AC drives, process equipment.
- Identifying and reporting/correcting safety and environmental concerns.
- Performing all work in compliance with company standards, procedures and regulatory requirements.
- Demonstrating performance towards operational excellence.
- Responsible for the general upkeep and maintenance of all facilities and equipment as required.
- Performing trouble-shooting, maintenance and control operations on Industrial Boilers with an understanding of Honeywell controls, pressure limit switches etc. required for safe operation of the boilers.
- Performing instrument repair and calibration on DP cells.
- Trouble-shooting and maintaining the PLC systems as well as Variable Frequency Drives required for unit operations.
- Researching, diagnosing and resolving issues related to Instruments, Electrical and IT operation.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Possession of, or working with intent to obtain, a two-year Associate Degree in job-related technical training.
- Minimum experience between 1-2 years.
- Must be able and willing to respond to, and address, callouts and emergnecies during and after regular business hours, including after-dark hours, which require carrying a communication device.
- Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, decimals).
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work with a team, take direction from supervisors, keep required work schedules, focus attention on details and follow work rules.
- Ability to work alone at times to identify and resolve issues which arise related to Instrument and Electrical matters.
- Show the willingness and possess the ability to advance to the next level.
- Ability to research and learn about unique systems specific to this facility and apply this knowledge quickly to assure peak performance of operations.
- Must be able to withstand extreme weather conditions.
- Must be able to frequently climb to and work from elevated platforms, excavated areas, ladders, stairwells, walkways etc.
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 20 pounds in awkward positions and possess the ability to lift 50 pounds from floor to waist (occasional).
- May work in low-lit areas.
- Must be generally available to work after hours and be available for callouts when matters arise at the facility.
